the shapes in this pattern come from a concept I used in a previous project.

As soon as hairs were glued to the tiles in the shower I started drawing with this as it were. Beautiful organic shapes emerged.
My idea was to base a pattern on these organic shapes created by hair. As soon as hair is wet it moves differently than when it is dry. They are supple, pliable and playful. 


The technique I used for this pattern I found on youtube. this way you get a nice continuous pattern.

You have a square work ball in which you design the pattern. On all sides where shapes stick out you make sure that on the other side it is placed exactly at the same spot over the line. finally illustrator makes a kind of cutting mask of the square and so it is pasted in swatches one after the other and a pattern is created.
